Acoustic Barriers

Acoustic Barrier Panels

Acoustic barrier significantly reduces traffic noise

Regular exposure to noise levels over 80 db — the same noise level as a traffic jam or a train heard from 15 meters away — will cause chronic hearing damage. Residential areas and office buildings in close proximity to rail lines and highways need protection from damaging noise levels as a matter of public health. Polycarbonate or Acrylic acoustic barriers sheets absorb and reduce sound, and present a good solution for high noise levels in urban areas and near rail lines or highways.

Acoustic barriers need to reduce noise levels below the threshold for damage or annoyance. They must resist the elements — extremes of heat and cold, exposure to rain, snow, wind, and hail. In addition, they should be easy to install and maintain and pleasing to look at.

Acoustic barrier sheets, such as the PALSUN, PALGARD & PALGLASS, offered by Palram, fulfill all of these requirements. Our panels are both lightweight and nearly unbreakable, so they can be easily installed next to highways and railways and then left alone for years without maintenance. Palrams’ acoustic barrier sheets are available in a variety of tints and transparencies, giving them aesthetic qualities in addition to their utility.
