As local governments begin to reopen their communities, barriers and dividers partitions, safety shields, antimicrobial cladding, sneeze guards, and other protective products continue to be in high demand. Architects, designers, contractors, and facility managers across the country are working on both temporary and permanent solutions to help facilitate social distancing in the post-COVID-19 world. To do this, we need to create environments within businesses and public facilities where it’s easy to maintain germ-free contact surfaces and other high-touch areas. We also need to rethink facility interiors and reshape them to allow for safe distancing between people.
