PALCLAD®

Solid PVC industrial interior wall cladding system

PALCLAD consists of solid PVC panels and installation accessories for clean, professional installation. PALCLAD combines mechanical advantages for easy cleaning and maintenance, as well as outstanding resistance to chemicals, moisture, stains, and spills. The PALCLAD interior cladding panels can be cut, formed and fabricated on site while still maintaining their original physical properties.
PALCLAD is an excellent substrate for digital printing, allowing designers to create colourful, engaging, and elegant wall coverings.
Constructors, installers, and maintenance teams can use PALCLAD to create a simple, easy-to-install, easy-to-clean interior cladding solution that never cracks or tarnishes and can be used in a wide range of facilities.
The HYG version of PALCLAD is an active bacteria resistant cladding that sets a higher standard of sanitation and bio-security.

Ideal for Sterile Environments

PALCLAD HYG ACTIVE ANTIMICROBIAL PROTECTION REDUCES INFECTIONS

How does it work?

PALCLAD HYG Hygienic wall cladding inhibits the growth of pathogens. The system's sheets utilize silver ions, a natural antimicrobial agent that inhibits the reproduction of microbes. Unlike a coating, these ions are embedded into the panels, so even worn or scuffed panels retain their antimicrobial properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should products be pre-dried before thermoforming?
+ -

This depends on the production date and storage conditions of the product before thermoforming. It is recommended to check the product before thermoforming is attempted.

Is the PE film suitable for thermoforming applications?
+ -

Most of Palram's products that are delivered with PE film covering are suitable for thermoforming. In general, we recommend using clear PE and not printed PE.

What are the dimensions of PALCLAD Pro sheets (size and thickness)?
+ -

PALCLAD Pro comes in a standard size of 1500x3000 mm and in thicknesses of 2 and 2.5 mm.

What is the range of colors for PALCLAD Pro?
+ -

PALCLAD Pro comes standard in white and off-white. In addition, 10 more colors are available on special order. PALCLAD Pro can be printed on with excellent ink adhesion to surface and print quality.

What is the difference between antimicrobial and antibacterial?
+ -

Antimicrobial and antibacterial are interchangeable in many cases. However, antimicrobial offers further protection by eliminating fungi, that is, by eliminating any mold or potential mold build-up.

Do Palram's animal covering and cladding solutions have thermal insulation properties?
+ -

All of Palram's animal covering & cladding solutions have superior thermal insulation properties compared to metal coverings.

Is PALRUF resistant to animal residue?
+ -

All of Palram's animal covering & cladding solutions are resistant to animal residues, detergents, and other chemicals, and come with a 10+ year warranty.

Which of Palram's sheets are suitable for printing, sign & display applications?
+ -

For use in illuminated signage, PALSUN, PALSUN CS (Coil Stock) and PALGLAS are suitable for the sign face; and PALBOARD, PALOPAQUE, and PALIGHT for the body of the letters or symbols. For print & display, Palram's entire product portfolio can be used based on the specific application. This choice depends on a combination of several parameters, including the cost of the media, its durability, and its suitability for the specific application. Please visit Palram’s Flat sheet application catalog for more information.

What is the most accurate white point that is suitable for wide-format printing?
+ -

There are different white substrates available but in order to achieve a true colored image according to the design, a process of profiling (ICC profile) needs to be done. By using a natural white substrate (a tint which been made with no extra additives), the process of measuring and profiling becomes very simple and fast.

How do I handle inkjet printable media before and after printing?
+ -

Before: use a protected sheet with PE masking, store unused inkjet printable media in original packaging and in a clean area, and avoid touching the print side by handling the edges of the sheet or by using lint-free white gloves.

After: avoid any finishing until prints are completely dry, store the printed media in a clean environment, and avoid dust from sticking to the fresh cured ink.

What is the difference between a polypropylene sheet and PVC?
+ -

In terms of ink adhesion properties, both polymers act very differently. PVC is a ready-to-use polymer so no pre-treatment needs to be done before printing (on rigid or flexible media). Polypropylene has different chemical properties and for this reason, needs to get a pre-treatment coat ('Corona'), which has a limited shelf life.

What is the best wide-format inkjet media (substrate) for my application?
+ -

This is based on a combination of several parameters, but the main ones are the cost of the media and its durability, and its fit to the required application. Please visit Palram’s Flat Sheet Application Catalog.

What can assure accurate double-sided printing or recto verso prints?
+ -

A strict spec of diagonal (from angle to angle) during the production process is feasible for this.
